Jonathan Leath

Co-Pastor

Pastor Jonathan was born on a tobacco farm in Elon, North Carolina. The third of five children. Raised in a god-fearing home, Jonathan developed a love for people and love for the word of God. His home church was Gibsonville Baptist Church, but after his parents divorced, the family started attending Jeffries Cross Baptist Church. After graduating high school, he attended North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro, NC and obtained a BS in Marketing. As a college student, Jonathan deepened his relationship with Jesus and was active at his newfound home, Evangel Fellowship COGIC.

After graduation, Jonathan got a job with Chrysler Financial and moved to New London, CT. While in New London, Jonathan joined Trinity Missionary Baptist Church. In 1995, Jonathan's career took him to Lansdale, PA. Jonathan visited local churches upon arriving in PA but found his new home at New Covenant Church of Philadelphia. During his time in PA, Jonathan enrolled in Cairn University (formerly Philadelphia Biblical University) and obtained a Masters in Organizational Leadership. While continuing to serve the Lord faithfully, he met and married his sweetheart, Kamili, and they were married in 1997.

In May of 2000, Jonathan and Kamili felt the call to leave Chrysler and become the Executive Pastor at Agape Family Worship Center. Under his leadership, the Church grew from 500 to over 4,500 members, and he oversaw a $4M budget. After serving Agape for nearly ten years, Jonathan and Kamili were commissioned to start Destiny Family Worship Center in Burlington, NJ.

Destiny Family Worship center quickly began to impact South Jersey. Jonathan pastored the Church for 13 years; however, he desired to pastor and lead a culturally and ethnically diverse congregation. This dream became a reality with the merger of Destiny Family Worship Center merged with Maranatha Christian Fellowship and became Converge Church.

Presently Jonathan is pursuing his Doctorate in Strategic Leadership at Liberty University. He and his wife reside in Moorestown, NJ, with their children, Jonathan, Joshua, and Joel. Their daughter Jael is a student at KS State University.
